elastic window drapes: ugh

Who in their right mind would permanently display window drapes with elastic? If you like wearing dress pants with an elastic waistband, then by all means go ahead and buy window drapes with elastic.

Target, I’m disappointed. Land of Nod, I’m really disappointed.

Where… are you seeing the elastic?

That’s what happens when you open drapes though. No elastic.

This is as bad as pleated pants!

Guys! These are not elastic drapes. The top probably looks extra bunched up and screwy because these are multilayer “blackout” type drapes.

Yes. I’m looking at that picture.

It looks like the “pocket” for the curtain rod to go through is very narrow, just fitting over the curtain rod. Such a narrow space will bunch tighter than the bottom of the curtain. I agree that it looks horrible, but it is not elastic. Elastic would pull the drapes open when they were closed – if it didn’t, then the elastic wouldn’t be strong enough to create the “pleated” effect we’re seeing.

I’m with @sparxmind, I don’t understand where the elastic is.
