Newly launched as of January 4, 2006, the Trozo Gallery offers a glimpse at some great gestural and textured Art. I would really like to know what medium Eduardo Valdivieso uses in his Art. He simply calls it “mixed media”. I’m guessing india ink and an airbrush.
The subject matter of his work is usually pensive young adults. I kinda wish he would draw in the pupils when eyes are shown open. I understand it adds emotion by leaving them out, but it detracts from the pieces.
The color palette is superb. Pieces usually feature black with warm, deep yellows and reds. The drawing style is a controlled kind of gestural reality with splatters of ink (or paint) that complement his technique well.
When you click on a thumbnail, you obviously get a larger image. Though you have to click on the larger image to get back to the thumbnails. That’s weird. It took me a while to figure that out.
Valdivieso is offering 16×24″ prints for only $20 a pop. nice. I’m not sure how much shipping is.
