iPass goofiness

Recently I received an email from the folks at Illinois iPass stating that my account was running low and it would need to be replenished soon. My most recent job has not required that I drive on the tollway, so I rarely have used my iPass. I tried throwing $10 into my account and got the following error message: “Replenishment must be a dollar amount between 40 and 1000000 in $1 increments.”

Yea, that’s $1,000,000 as in one million. Who in their right mind shells out 1 million dollars onto their iPass? Really? I could only imagine they have the dollar amount so high in hopes that someone will accidentally put in a couple extra zeros by accident. That’s downright sneaky.

One million dollars in an iPass account? That sounds like a sneaky way to traffic money. (pun intended)

Are you sure iPass isn’t a multi-player role game? That error message sounds like it was written by someone who spends a lot of time with their head in a role playing game. Maybe people like you who use the iPass in real life are merely there to keep the iPass civilization in the game moving along for the players.
